Sea moderate at times about the south coast. Fine with high cloud.Early start leaving Chaffers at 0730 hrs and with Murray on helm and in breezy northerly (20+ kts) we motor-sailed across harbour arriving at Seaview at 0850 hrs. After attending the skippers briefing and getting some good coffees we were back on the water.   • Charlotte Challenge Trophy - 24 Nov 2018 Crew: Geoff, Peter, Tunch, Julie, Paul (Wavish).Marine Forecast: Variable 5 knots. Southerly 10 knots developing around midday, rising to southeast 15 knots about the south coast this afternoon.Departed Chaffers with Geoff and Tunch at 1006 hrs. Hoisted Main and No.1 LT but with about 5 kts wind we needed to motor most of the way to Evans Bay. Tied up at the Slipway and went to the club to wait for the race sailing instructions.  The course was eventually confirmed as "Start - 1 -Shaol Pile - 8 - 1 - Shoal Pile - 3 - 1 - Shoal Pile - 3 -1 - Finish. Morning and evening cloud,otherwise fine.In celebration of the EBYMBC Centenary we dressed Halo in bunting the day before and left Chaffers Marina with Jim and Tunch at 1030 hrs. Fine weather. As Temptation were short staffed we invited Paul and Robin to join us on Halo. We had a great start crossing the line a few seconds after 1315 hrs with Paul doing an excellent job on helm.We  tacked into the northerly out of Evans bay with full main and No.1 Genoa in third place behind Airlift and Liquid Asset.   • Wineworks Cook Strait Race - 1 Dec 2017 Crew: Geoff Head, Murray Thomas, Grant Timlin, Eduardo Villouta. Forecast: Light northerly to start picking up during the race. 15-20 kts  We had sailed Halo across Cook Strait to Waikawa the previous day (Thursday 30 Nov) and berthed in the Waikawa Marina for the night.  At 7pm the Waikawa Boating Club held the pre-race briefing at the clubrooms. Very well organised event with all the information we needed including the Handicap table for all boats. Halo was at the bottom of the handicap list at 0.6400 together with Owhiro Lady.  We were obviously going to be one of the slowest boats in the race.   • Evans Bay Shiralee Cup Race - Nov 2017 Crew: Peter, Murray, Geoff Forecast: Southerly 20 knots easing to 15 knots late this evening. Moderate sea, easing late this evening. Mostly cloudy, with light drizzle possible this evening. Peter and Geoff sailed round to Evans Bay where we signed on for the race and got the course instructions:  S - Ngauranga 4 (S) - Ward Is 12 (S) - Finish. Rain developing.  Today was meant to be race 2 in the EBYMC Winter Series but was cancelled due to lack of boats. The weather put them off. Wind reading at 9am this morning was 10 kts in Chaffers and 15 kts at Wellington Airport so we went out for a sail anyway and had a great day out on the harbour. "Pub to Club" Race. Days Bay Pavilion to Evans Bay Yacht & Motor Boat Club.Crew: Peter, Eduardo, Jim, Murray, Helen, GeoffForecast: Variable light winds, fine day.We motored across the harbour to Days Bay (due to almost zero wind) and rafted up at the jetty with Coriander and Temptation.
