Metservice marine forecast: Southerly 10 knots. Sea slight. Fine.

Christmas day sail with Sandra, Eduardo, Graciela and Geoff.

Beautiful day with a nice southerly breeze once we cleared Point Jerningham with the No. 1 Genoa and full mainsail. Reached over 6 kts according to tracker as we crossed Evans Bay. First time helming Halo for Graciela since she completed her sailing course this month.Great straight line helming.

We sailed round to Kau Bay which was sheltered from the southerly, put the anchor down and had a relaxing late lunch (leftover Xmas ham and cola de mono!). Geoff had a swim and cleared the algae around the speed log transducer. Tried out the dinghy but it was not successful. Took a long time to inflate as the pump has a leak and the dinghy would but hold its air. Leaks need to be repaired.
