Spinnaker Trial with Nigel and Albrecht - 24 October 2015

Marine Forecast: Variable 5 knots. Northerly 15 knots developing this evening. Sea slight. Fine.

Crew: Geoff, Sam, Nigel and Albrecht.

Brilliant clear day. Sailed out into the harbour at 3pm with the No. 1 Genoa and Mainsail chasing the light winds around as they changed from northerly round to southerly.

Thanks to Nigel's suggestion we decided to try out the Spinnaker. Tried the big one first. It was a great success! Also tried the smaller (newer) one but the lack of wind didn't really get it flying properly so we put the big one back up. All good experience until the shackle holding the spinnaker to the top on the mast broke and it slid down as far as the radar reflector.

Spotted lots of blue penguins on the way back.
