Marine Forecast:  Becoming southerly 15 knots but southeast 20 knots about the south coast this morning then easing to variable 5 knots everywhere early afternoon. Northerly 10 knots developing this evening. Moderate sea, easing by early afternoon. Morning cloud clearing.

Crew:  Nick, Marianna, Jono, Graciela and Geoff.

Departed Chaffers Marina at 1500 hrs after the safety briefing. Winds were very light southerlies initially so we motored out towards the container terminal before hoisting the Mainsail and No. 2 Genoa and sailed slowly towards Pt Halswell. Wind was all over the place and by the time we arrived at Kau Bay it had turned from northerly to southerly to westerly with no shelter in Kau Bay so we turned around and into Evans bay towards Shelly Bay where it was a southerly again. Tacked into the bay then turned around cruising back to Chaffers while have a cup of tea and a sandwich. Arrived at the marina 1717 hrs. A beautiful day out on the harbour.
